Verre Églomisé & Gilding
Centuries-old reverse glass gilding and painting, hand-crafted in gold leaf, palladium, white gold, and abalone.

Verre églomisé is one of the oldest and most luminous of the decorative glass arts — the centuries-old technique of applying gold or silver leaf to the reverse side of glass, then painting, and sealing it to create surfaces that glow from within.
At Castle Studio, we work in this living tradition — by hand, with patience, and with the finest gold leaf, palladium, white gold, and abalone.
What we create
VERRE ÉGLOMISÉ
Our custom verre églomisé commissions range from refined decorative accents to large-scale architectural installations. We create handcrafted gilded mirrors and framed glass panels for interior designers and homeowners, along with reverse-painted glass applications for cabinetry, feature walls, and custom furnishings. Our work also includes bespoke signage, house numbers for distinguished entrances, and gilded glass elements designed for sacred spaces. Each piece is carefully designed and handcrafted to add depth, luminosity, and lasting character to its environment
ARCHITECTURAL GILDING SERVICES
Our architectural gilding services bring warmth, radiance, and traditional craftsmanship to residences, chapels, churches, and other significant spaces. From the restoration of historic details to the creation of new gilded architectural features, we apply time-honored gilding techniques to moldings, ceilings, altars, ornamental woodwork, decorative metalwork, and other architectural elements. The result is a timeless finish that enhances interiors, celebrates craftsmanship, and creates enduring beauty.

How we work
Because the technique is exacting and increasingly rare — practiced by only a handful of studios in the country — verre églomisé commissions are best discussed in detail. We work closely with designers, architects, and homeowners to scope each piece around the setting, the light, and the visual outcome.
